Demi had a great first day of school. She loved her class and teachers. And she made new friends. She told us that the teacher had everyone shake her hand when they were introduced. They practice a bunch of life skills in her class as well as academics. For instance, they have a 'grooming' time after lunch were they brush their teeth and comb their hair and they work on things like unbuttoning their own pants - which Demi does not know how to do... It is really an UNBELIEVEABLE classroom and program. She is also lucky because the principal told us that her teacher is the 'gold standard' for the district. Demi has a darling new Hello Kitty backpack and a cute folder to match that is used for daily communication between the teacher and me.

oh, it is so cute. i think i have taken a picture on my first day of school in that very spot where parker and demi are standing in front of the school.....
